These Japanese Nishida grips are in high demand backstage at Fashion Week. They were like gold dust for many session stylists – until Session Kit brought them to the UK in 2017! These high-quality Japanese grips are designed for thick, silky hair, which makes them extra-strong – however, they can be used with all hair types.The quality and precision is astounding!

Each of the Nishida grips and pins are slightly unique in their design. This pin is a straight pin design, regular in size with a ribbed middle for extra grip. They are dark matt brown with a curved soft end with no ballpoint. These pins are fine but very strong, which sets them apart from other pins available in the industry. The ribbed effect alongside the matt texture gives these pins unparalleled grip.

In my many years of working in the hairdressing industry, I have found that the choice of which grip to use – whether with or without the wave or ballpoint end – is mainly down to personal preference. However, some session stylists prefer to work with non-ballpoint ends when they are working with wigs, extensions or creative padding, because without a ballpoint end you are able to penetrate creative material more easily.
